Batteries are the foundation of the
Off-Grid system. Like a house
built on a rock foundation, the batteries
are the foundation of an Off-Grid
system. Sized properly a battery
bank can provide years of power storage.
We
recommend the highest quality possible
in "Telecom Grade", manufactures like GNB, C&B, and Enersys.
The batteries themselves are 2 volt cells, that are either
"Wet Cell" or "AGM"
(Absorbed Glass Matt). The "Wet
Cells" require some monthly maintenance,
but proved to last up to 35 years in an
Off-Grid application. The "AGM's"
are sealed maintenance free and do not
give off hydrogen gas.
